EXCERPTS
1. What is a migrant farm worker you ask? They pick fruits and vegetables that you buy at the store or farmer’s markets. You see the Farmers grow the produce, but they can’t pick all the crops fast enough before it spoils and gets to market. That’s where we come in, we pick the crops and get it to market.
2. Today my family is working in an apple orchard in Walla Walla, Washington. I go with my family, but I can’t pick any apples, as I am too young.
3. My family climbs trees to get to the apples. They put the apples in this apron they wear and when it gets full, they dump the apples into these big crates in the middle of the apple orchard. These crates are then picked up by the Farmers and taken to market.
